Marcus Carlzon is a professional musician from Gothenburg, Sweden.
Marcus is the main songwriter, guitarist and lead vocalist in the Swedish Alt-rock band Firstborn.
Firstborn has recorded and released 3 albums and 1 EP. Done 7 tours within Europe, 1 in the UK and Sweden.
2017’s “Firstborn” album was released through Rough Trade distribution, and the single “What I Need To See” reached number #13 on German alternative radio. Firstborn has done 8 European tours and one UK tour.

The members of Firstborn played in a band called “A Hole Inside” from 2008-2012 and in 2012 they won Kultur ungdoms “best unsigned band in the region” (Västra Götaland) Listen to their music here
Marcus was the vocalist & co lyricist in the finnish metalband Split Second Eyes Wide between 2009-2011, they recorded and released 1 full lenght album in 2009, and did several shows in Finland during 2010. Check out a music video here
Marcus Carlzon also have other musical projects, such as his own solo project which is more of the singer-songwriter style. And another soft rock project (Road Of Circles)
Marcus Carlzon also teaches guitar to all skiill levels, ear-training, songwriting, improvisation and music theory to people of all ages and cultures.
From time to time Marcus also records and produces other artists and do songwriting and helping arranging their songs.
Marcus Carlzon has the last 15 years studied with over 35 music teachers from all over the world, including music theory, vocal-tecnique, ear-training, songwriting, guitar.
Marcus Carlzon has done over 200 professional shows all over Europe and the UK.
Since 2013 Marcus has been able to make a living as a self-employed musician only.
Marcus is an experienced expert guitar teacher & trainer, teaching 2000+ students of all levels and ages. Opened successfull guitar academy’s 3 different locations aswell as online guitar lessons.
Marcus has been teaching guitar since 2008 in the local areas of Kinna, Borås & Gothenburg. Aswell as Online & video on demand since 2013, (when he did his first european tour and still had to help out his students) he has also developed a unique method for learning guitar. He was the guitar teacher for both of the guitarists in his band Firstborn at one point.
The Swedish Guitar Method is the name for the method, and Marcus also runs a international plattform teaching in english via video, live session and offers personal coaching.
Marcus has trained several teachers working as independent contractors for the different guitar academy’s. The method that was developed for over a decade from teaching students in person, via video on demand.

Gitarrlektioner Borås was closed 2022 due to not being able to find teachers with the required high standard. , Gitarrlektioner i Mark was closed down 2015 because of Marcus moving to Borås – and it’s only 30 Km to Borås, most students decided to travel to Borås instead

Marcus is constantly writing new songs and working on music from his home studio and at Brewhouse in Gothenburg.
